Still Family Storytime
July 7 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Register online or call 724.941.9430 #3. Registration is required.
The library is partnering with The Still Remembered Project to offer a special storytime for children and families who have experienced loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. The program will offer encouraging and uplifting stories and activities to help children understand loss and grief. Andrew Yackuboskey, the author of Ashlyn’s Journal, will be joining us for a special discussion about his book, a true story account of the year following his daughter’s death. Andrew has graciously donated a signed copy to be raffled off to a family attending the Storytime and has donated copies to the library too. He will have additional copies on hand for purchase at the event.
We will be joined by a special PBS Kids character for a meet and greet – Arthur from the Marc Brown book series and TV series!
This program is being facilitated by Ms. Shannon in memory of her niece, Scarlett Pauley.
The Peters Township Public Library recently added Scarlett’s Sunshine Section, a grief resource area within the Children’s Department. A library staff member would be happy to direct you to that section and the materials available to you and your family
