Borrowing Periods

The library assigns a borrowing period to each circulating item in the collection, usually two or three weeks. This period may be extended at the staff’s discretion.

Checked out items will be automatically renewed for two additional circulation periods, unless or until a hold is placed on the item by another patron. Some items are exempt from auto-renewals.

Fine-Free

Peters Township Public Library, and all WAGGIN libraries, are currently fine-free. Overdue fines are not charged on items returned after the due date. Borrowers will be charged a replacement fee for items that are lost, damaged, or never returned.

Stolen, Forgotten, or Expired Cards

Borrowers with lost or stolen library cards should report this to the circulation desk immediately to avoid possible misuse of the card. Borrowers with lost library cards may obtain a replacement by asking in person at the circulation desk. There is no fee for replacement cards. Identification showing name and current address is required.

In order to check out materials, borrowers who have forgotten their library card must present identification showing their name and current address.

All library cards expire after three years. Borrowers will receive a notice when the card is set to expire. To renew a library card, please contact the library or visit the circulation desk so we can verify your contact information.
