Library Closings and Delays

December 4, 2019 by Lacey Love

Winter has arrived! We want to remind our community that, if necessary, library closings and delays will be communicated in a variety of ways.

~ Watch the listings on local television stations like KDKA, WTAE or WPXI

~ Visit the Peters Township Library website at ptlibrary.org

~ Check the Peters Township Library Facebook page

~ Open your email and look for an e-newsletter from the library with closing and delay details

If you don’t receive the library’s e-newsletters, now would be a perfect time to become a subscriber. Sign up here to receive weekly updates about programs, resources, and any special announcements.

Please do not call the library as the phone message system will not reflect changes to our operating hours.

All of Us Research Program

December 4, 2019 by Lacey Love

There’s no one exactly like you, which is exactly why The University of Pittsburgh All of Us Research Program needs you! The All of Us Research Program is an historic effort to gather data from one million or more people living in the United States, 120,000 in Pennsylvania alone, to accelerate research and improve health. By taking into account individual differences in lifestyle, environment, and biology, researchers will uncover paths toward delivering precision medicine.

The library is partnering with the All of Us Pennsylvania Research Program as an appointment site for those interested in participating in the study. To schedule your appointment, call 412-383-2737 or go to JoinAllofUsPa.org/OnlineScheduling. All participants receive a $25 gift card upon completion of their visit.

Want to learn more?  Visit JoinAllofUsPa.org for more information.  If you want to do a deep dive into the national program, visit JoinAllofUs.org.

Already a member of All of Us?  Thank you! To reach our goal of enrolling one million people nationwide, we hope you will help us spread the word to your friends and colleagues. Tell everyone about the importance of the All of Us Research Program and encourage them to enroll.

Small Business Saturday

November 24, 2019 by Lacey Love

The library is proud to be a member of the Peters Township community, and it has been exciting to watch small businesses in our neighborhood flourish.

When you shop at a small business, you not only support our local economy but also promote thriving communities across the country. In fact, for every dollar you spend to SHOP SMALL, approximately 67 cents stays in the local community.*

As an extra incentive to Shop Small, make a purchase at any of the local businesses listed below on Saturday, Nov. 30. Stop by the Library Services Desk by Monday, Dec. 2 and show your receipt. We will give you a raffle ticket for a chance to win an exciting PLAY LOCAL basket! The basket includes:
