Is your child a great little storyteller proudly displaying drawings in your home? Share his/her talents and prepare entries to the PBS KIDS Writers Contest on Sunday, February 19 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Peters Township Public Library. PBS KIDS Writers Contest is designed to promote the advancement of children’s literacy skills through hands-on, active learning.
The Youth Services Department is partnering with WQED to host this event, which encourages students in kindergarten through 5th grade to write and illustrate their own original masterpiece for the chance to win some great prizes. During the program, children will write a story, make revisions, create illustrations and prepare to submit them to the Writers Contest.
Registration requested to attend this program. Register by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org, call 724.941.9430 #3, or visit the Youth Services Desk at the library. The Contest, made possible in part by local financial support from the EQT Foundation, empowers children in grades K-5 to celebrate creativity and build literacy skills by writing and illustrating their very own stories.
